Ok, I know it's kind of silly to do a countdown for a weekend vacation, but I feel like it's been FOREVER since I got out of the city! So, here I am, on a Thursday afternoon, relishing the fact that on Saturday morning at 6:30, I will be leaving to go on safari!!!
I am so excited to see all of the animals up at Murchison Falls! I have heard that it is amazing up there; you can see lions, giraffes, rhinos, hippos, antelope, hyenas, monkeys - and so much more!
So far, the coolest animals I've seen in Kampala are....
:)
We also get to go to the Nile which, if you don't count the couple of times I've driven over the bridge, I haven't been to yet. Wahoo! Let's pray I don't get bilharzia :)
What I'm most excited for, truly, is a rest.
A rest from the craziness of Kampala, from the constant flow of people wanting to talk to me, and from the lack of quietness that I feel. I need that alone time. This past year and a half has made it so much more evident to me how important having my alone time with Jesus is... It's not that I don't love my friends and family (YOU) - don't get me wrong! But I cherish that time to sit alone and talk, sing, cry, laugh... I just need Him.
Prayer Requests: for a safe journey to and from, a wonderful time of relaxation and enjoyment of all God's creatures - big and small!
